Sober Living Homes
A recovery home is designed to be a residence for individuals with addiction and related issues, including mental health concerns, as they transition into a recovery-based, independent lifestyle. There are two recovery homes in Cambridge, one for men and one for women. They provide individuals with safe housing as they develop the life skills and community connections necessary for a healthy lifestyle, filling the gap in treatment resources and facilities.
The sober living homes program includes a social enterprise. This social enterprise consists of making and selling homemade meat pies (turkey & beef), tarts, and jam. The program provides opportunities for residents to raise money for resources needed at the houses and gain skills related to running a business and financial management while teaching life skills.
Why not shop at the Cambridge Market on Saturday mornings…Head over to the market table inside Wesley United Church where you can purchase home-made jam, beef or turkey meat pies as well as an assortment of butter and pecan tarts made by the residents of Ancora and Saginaw House.
