Personal Philosophy: As a Transgender therapist and scholar, my academic and practical experience supporting people who are in pain or suffering due to conditions of injustice, isolation, and oppression is large. People with identities that have been denied care and support are often at high rates of isolation, harm, pain, and many other impacts. My goal is to address any barriers that we can in our time together so you can access the most amount of wellness accessible to you at this time.
I am neurodiversity affirming, meaning I do not wish to encourage changing parts of you that you enjoy, or work for you. If there is anything you find is not working or does not feel nice, then we can explore change together. This applies also to any matters outside of neurodiversity such as coping in ways others may stigmatize you for. I focus on encouraging people to make decisions that represent and honour their values, in whatever way they can reach in that moment. I support folks through socially just versions of Person Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic supports and Trauma attuned practices.
