Background: I have been working with Porchlight Counselling and Addiction Services since April 2008. Before that my work in the social services sector included working with seniors and youth/adults with developmental and physical disabilities. When I joined Porchlight, I was drawn to their outreach work they did in the community. I have had the privilege to work in many facets of this agency including working with our seniors and outreach program in Ayr, administration support, co-ordination of programs; including the Partner Assault Response program and general operations of Porchlight.

Personal Philosophy: A little kindness can go a long way. If you google “What makes a kind person?” the response will be: “Kind people are gentle and patient with those who need help. They have the ability to be present in any situation and offer a listening ear, warm smile, or an encouraging word when needed. Kindness can come from anyone- not just friends, but also strangers on the street”. I hope that each person that calls and comes into our agency is getting the kind person experience here at Porchlight.
